Consistent Positive Action Creates Huge Momentum
As I laced up my shoes this morning to head out and tackle my first action focused goal, I spent some time reviewing the past seven days. It’s hard to believe it’s already been a week since I set and began to achieve these daily action goals.
I can honestly tell you it is 99% easier to tackle these goals today than it was in the first couple of days. If you recall, I was having a bit of a challenge with the “voices” trying to encourage me to make excuses as to why I didn’t have to accomplish those goals.
Well, I am happy to report to you that those voices have all but left. The consistency of achieving my daily action goals, has made it much easier, and created momentum that’s sending me off on a very positive path.
I’ve noticed that not only are these action goals moving me closer to achieving my larger goals, but I am finding that other areas of my life are improving in a positive way as well.
I believe the focus that I am placing, consciously and sub consciously, is forcing me to take a more positive outlook on other areas of my life as well. The result of that outlook is that I am taking actions consistent with the positive outcome I’d like to attain.
It’s pretty amazing how focusing on completing just three simple actions each day can have such a huge impact.
For about the last year or so I’ve started to see how having patience and just taking small steps toward accomplishing any goal can result in HUGE progress. It doesn’t matter how talented you are, or if you are doing something 100% perfectly. It’s just the fact that you are taking positive action over and over again that you begin to see much larger results than the effort you expend. That my friends is momentum and DEFINITELY something I want to have on my side.
As Amanda and I were walking around Reed’s Lake in East Grand Rapids Michigan, we happened to bump into George Aquino, the GM of the JW Marriott in downtown Grand Rapids. George is a great guy and someone whose blog I read daily. I don’t follow many blogs regularly, but ironically while I am conducting this 30 day experiment, George is doing 30 days of personal challenges and covering them in his blog. It is excellently written and unlike my blog, actually contains quite a few photographs which I am sure you’ll enjoy.
Whatever it is you want to achieve, whether it is a monetary goal, health focused goal, or simply a personal development goal …
Make sure you are taking consistent positive action towards the attainment of that goal and within no time you’ll create HUGE momentum and you’ll be surprised at how fast you’ll accomplish your goal!
If you have any examples of how you’ve experienced this momentum in the past, or are seeing it happen for you right now, take a second and share those thoughts with us all. If you haven’t yet, make a committment by leaving a comment and then check back and share your progress with the readers of this blog. Have a great day and go take some positive action today!
