If You Plan to Succeed … You Need to Believe You Will!
I can’t tell you how many times in the past where I’ve said I was going to accomplish something, set out a plan, and didn’t accomplish it. Now there were many reasons why I didn’t get it done but the biggest reason I didn’t is because I simply didn’t have a strong enough belief that I could.
I’ve heard the saying a million times: “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t … You are right!
This saying is so true. Think about it for a second…
If you’ve ever said you WANTED to be a millionaire, and you planned on accomplishing it. You probably took the time to lay out a clear action plan that, if followed, would get you exactly where you wanted to be.
The only problem is…
You didn’t truly believe you had what it takes to make a million dollars.
You may think you did, but let’s look at what probably happened…
You set your goal, created your plan, and you even had the best of intentions. The only problem is you didn’t follow the plan. You found a bunch of excuses that got in the way that were far less significant than the accomplishment of your goal.
Now let’s look at it logically…
If you absolutely knew without a shadow of a doubt that if you followed your plan to a “T”, you’d reach that millionaire status as you planned, You wouldn’t let anything get in your way. Would you?
Heck no!
The only way you wouldn’t take the necessary steps is if the goal wasn’t something that was very important to you, or you simply didn’t believe you were capable of accomplishing it.
You may be thinking, “Is it really that easy?
Yes it is!
You need to be realistic though. If you set a goal to participate in the 100 meter dash in the Olympics, and you’ve never ran a day in your life, you will have an extremely difficult time BELIEVING you can accomplish that goal. Plus the work involved to get to the point where that goal would become a reality would be so immense that your desire plus lack of necessary skills would be way too big of a mental road block.
We are all faced with negative people every single day and when you tell those people what your goals are, they’re the first people to tell you, “You can’t do that!”
The reason these people make statements like this is because they don’t want you to succeed. They would rather have you wallowing around in their negativity with them.
These type of people are like a cancer and should be avoided. If you spend time hanging around positive, goal oriented people, you will find it much easier to believe in yourself!
Whatever your goals are, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! You can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Remember? Your Mom and Dad told you that a million times when you were growing up didn’t they?
If they didn’t, THEY WERE WRONG and you shouldn’t listen to that garbage. 🙂
